Nasty App

The App didnt work !!! Neither opened on OS X version 10.8. Dont buy it !!! How can I get my money back?

Doesnt work with Mountain Lion - Seriously!?

The app doesnt work on Mountain Lion … Its been a while now, I was wondering if the makers want to move themselves for the sake of money theyve been paid by thr buyers and fix this issue.

Doesnt work...

I just got the mountain lion and it doesnt work and is there anything being done to it to work on os x 10.8?

Do not buy this flaming piece of crap.

This does not even open running OSX Version 10.8.1 after installing from the Apple store 3 different times.

Useless

This app is utterly useless if youre running Mountain Lion. OS 10.8 has been on the street for how many months now, and nothing from Kaspersky for an update. Time to switch.

can

cant be open and it says it was damaged and ask me to reinstall for no reason……

Doesnt Work

I downloaded this this morning. It wont open and keeps telling me it is damaged and I need to delete it and re-download. Ive done this twice and it still wont work. Dont waste your money.

Horrible

I am having the same problem, cant open, indicates that the file is damaged. How do you get a refund?

Works like a million bucks!

Slick interface and fast. Updates quickly and autonomously. Also, see Kaspersky in the news all the time about being on the cutting edge of identifying new viruses/malware (such as FLAME, etc.).

Crap

I downloaded this today and can not update the virus definitions. Every time I have opened the App, I have had to make it force quit. Based on this experience I can not reccomend this program.

Highly recommend

Last night I had a warning about a file I downloaded, so I requested it to be deleted… well that just didnt work, because my Macbook Pros console was going crazy this morning and my login picture changed to grey circles. I immediately decided to update to a more powerful virus control and run it. I chose Kaspersky, because of personal past experience. I had read reviews for this product about a year ago and they were great, so I immediately decided to try it out on my Mac. I downloaded it, updated its database, disconnected my internet connection and ran a complete scan. It found a trojan horse and a virus. It deleted them both. My system is now running great. Its console is normal with no more errors reported. It did exactly what it needed to do and at an incredibly low price… Im dying to say THANKS.

Its not bad

I have no problems with the scanning but if I leave during a full scan it sometimes freezes. There is service support. In comparison to the other virus scanners for Mac it is probably much better. I think I will stick with this one.

Crashes during scan

I have been unable to complete either a Quick Scan or Full Scan. The scan gets a little more than halfway complete, then the product crashes. I attempted to get support on the Kaspersky site and got a 404 message for the support site.

Ho Hum thus far ...

I was told that the database was out of date, it is now 30 minutes, and I appear to be downloading one file at a time, as opposed to downloading a zip. Of course, this came to a sudden halt when it detected that a particular file was corrupt. There are also some pretty amateurish bugs with the user-interface where the progress percentage in the parent window does not update. Finally, its belief of what a full update will take is horribly reminiscent of Windows File Manager … maybe were 80% done with 5 minutes left, or again it might take an hour more. Underwhelming …. I just hope this poor quality does not reflect itself in its core function ….

Slow, inept, and expensive

We Mac users have enjoyed a long history of virus free computers. Lately, it seems the vast expansion enjoyed by Apple translated into hacks and attacks. Though most hackers come from unwed parents and are easily identified by their horrendous facial features the unwitting Mac computer cannot know this and therefore requires protection. Enter Kaspershy and the reasons I decided to venture into their realm. That trip was abysmal. Kaspersky is slow. It updates every time I use it, slowly. There is no automatic scanning for the convenient times I may be sleeping and my computer is not. Also, Kaspersky demands its pound of money for each computer you wish protected. There are no family packs or multi-computer packages offered for the Mac. Oh, got an iPad? Just how are you going to protect it? Not through Kaspersky. I nstalled the program and launched it. After an agonizing 14 minutes of updating definitions the green light glowed brightly signifying the programs reediness to scan. Following directions one clicks the green button and boom, up pops a comforting statement that all is well with my computer. Except, the files scanned remained at 0. The only way to scan my drives is not through the preferances feature. I have to drag my hard drive onto the glowing green button. So I do. 5 hours and many minutes later, again up pops the all clear and well statement. This time there are millions of files listed as scanned. Am I comforted, knowing my computer is well and healthy? Well I suppose so. Am I comfident that everything was indeed scanned? No, I am not. Really, over 5 hours to scan everything on the new Mac Retina PowerBook, with all its computing accolades and speed? Whatever else is out there may be worth a look. Kaspersky gives a "try before you buy" option. I should have taken it. I recommend you do.

Disappointing…..Its gotta go.

After much consideration, I decided to purchase and install this app and am now about to ask for my money back. The first scan found 2 threats, but regardless of how I try, the program will neither disinfect or delete either "threat". I also note that the threat path statement seems to suggest a windows32 based virus in a windows-ish folder which doesnt exist on this machine. In any case, its gotta go. The scan runs over and over, resulting in warnings, etc. but wont do anything about them. Two Thumbs Down in Alexandria

Disappointed

why my review was removed?

Have my Doubts

I have used for a while, this week it found a Trojan, but could not disinfect it. For 3 days I kept getting the warning of the Threat. I called & e-mailed Kaspersky support. They were no help, just sent me instructions on how to adjusting settings. After the third day, the Threat is not longer posted, but I dont know if it was disinfected or is just hiding deep in files. I called Apple support and they just told me Macs do not get viruses.

Used to be good but no more service

They have stopped supporting this product and will not update it for Mavericks. Off to look for other options.

available to purchase for 10.9 but doesnt work

bought this as i had installed a fresh version of 10.9 and needed an AV solution. Took my money, let me download it, but doesnt run, when you go to support, it states that support expired in July. How you can sell a product that is out of support on the Apple App Store is a disgrace. seeking a refund.
